Avalanche of Embossed Cards!

I am taking my hopes to be a little more pro-active with the cards seriously, happily! These are all just the different permutations of the Connemara series, combining all three images with the different messages and both silver and gold embossing...phew!
It means listings may be a little monotonous for a while, but I'll feel better, in that princess and the pea way!, knowing that I have given them a good shot. I like these cards, they are certainly simple, but I worked hard on the images and they mean a lot to me as my first cards - the first things I'd admitted to making much less trying to sell! I'm planning to list every second day, which is still a world away from what I was doing, totally ad hoc, but still isn't setting myself up to fail :p

It begins!

A tide of listing will follow...in theory!! It's kinda ominous to start with this "death metal" card though!
(Aaaaactually, my sister's boyfriend is involved in getting an Irish language Metal band on its feet - 'Corr Mhona' is their name, if you're interested you should google them! :D )

Biggest Ever Order of cards Contd....

March is over...

Well, essentially March is over, and this is a good thing for me. It has been a mad, hectic, tiring and draining culmination of a couple of mad, hectic, tiring and draining months. In fact, it may take me a while to reaclimatise to 'normal' mad-hectic-tiring-draining life, but I'm off to a great start: on March 22nd I had my biggest ever order of cards, 7, from a very kind and lovely and enthusiastic person - my FAVOURITE kind! And yes, she is on the official list for Nicest People On Etsy. Fact.

Only downside to lovely people on Etsy making me blush and smile to myself is my tendency to add extra cards to their order! It almost seems like I am taking advantage of them, when they 'only' get what they pay for! It does add up just from the point of view of card, envelope, slip-case, and added shipping...but I think I'll keep doing it. I will put it down as 'advertising', especially because I would usually add a style of card that thay haven't got. But would Richard Branson/Donald Trump et al approve?!

St. Patrick's Day was good to me...

I had a sale, aw :)
Just the one card, but it's one of the claddagh ring ones which I'm glad about. Also, the lady is a return customer which is pretty sweet. I am so chuffed, in fact, that I quickly did up another little blank card for her, which actually looked pretty nice - very Oirish, but I may think of listing a few!

Picture curses

See, no exclamation mark means this is serious: I can't get these cards to take nice pictures to save my life :(
Having said that, these are going on Etsy anyway, before I'm kicked out for Non-Attendance!

Picture Curses!

Cards look better than pictures, pinky promise! How often have I said that?
As a result of (a) not having access to the printer for the inserts and (b) being an absurdly impatient person and (c) changing my mind about having the Irish phrase and English translation on the front of one of the cards...they are blank, the background in the pictures does no favours at all to the cards and they are odd sized!
Also, one has the textured paper as an insert, the other has the plain coloured card...But which do I prefer?

In the works...

I am exhausted! There is a lot going on right now, and neither me or my cards are a priority. Still though, I have managed to get a little work done on an idea that has been niggling away at me - phonetic cards.
Questions include: what script to use? Colour? Paper/card? How much to say about the phonetics, the real spelling, the translation? Where to put all of this?
Well?!
Yes, it hasn't been easy. I have drawn up a script of my own, I wanted it to be more fun than the celtic script but still have some echoes of it in it...hmm. Not sure! As to ALL of the other questions, I am completely on the fence!

I did threaten...

...that I'd get a little more colourful! Inspired by Google, which looks a little like 'Gaeilge' (= Irish for the Irish Language...but you knew that!) :P
This is my first attempt at a pack of cards, I think I just went with it with these cards because they suit being in a little series so well - I may offer them individually as well.
Actually I really like these pics, they came out well considering I only had a few minutes to do them and was certain I'd have to come back later and have a do-over! Maybe I underestimated the advantages of bright colours, they do half the work for you :)
I figured I'd go for a different background, and make a little distinction between the more fun cards and the more Earnest ones! And to make sure to keep the pics and the cards looking as bright as possible I just used sheets of white card as the background, and then to help the cards stand out and pick out a bit of the colourfulness of the lot I spread a whole load of my magpie's collection of biros, pens and pencils underneath!
Hm, as I say, pretty pleased considering!

New Frontier!

2 sales in one day :)

Oh, actually it was 2 SHIPPINGS in 1 day, 'cos of the weekend...Still loved bundling off the two little packages though!

Also: work in progress "business cards" - round and made of paper = paper pennies...

Fós Beo!

I'm still alive, wheeze! I've been away for a few days and there's no end to the things that need to be caught up on...I had put the Etsy on hold and since turning it back 'on' have had another sale...I'll get it ready today and then I may have to fly into town first thing tomorrow morning to make sure it has a good chance of getting to America BEFORE St. Patricks's Day! Finger's crossed! And after that I won't be so one-step-behind, I'm sure :p
